What is an Educational Navigator?
Educational Navigators are trained professionals who guide each student’s educational journey with consistent, individualized support. They:
Provide direct educational support that helps students succeed in school.
Build connections within schools and collaborate with staff, caseworkers, and community resources.
Strengthen ties between schools and the broader community.
Foster emotional connection, encouragement, and care.

Fred has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with minors in Chicano Studies and Family Studies. He has extensive experience working in youth services. Fred is passionate and excited to connect with staff and students. He is looking forward to assisting students with self-advocacy skills, job exploration and readiness, career planning, and trade skill opportunities.

Noel (she/they) has over 12 years of experience working in education. She has had a diverse range of experiences, including teaching kindergarten and studio art, as well as teacher coaching and K-12 administration. Noel has worked with educational nonprofits across four continents, advocating for access to high-quality education and equity for all learners. Noel is dedicated, passionate, and ready to meet staff and students!

Jessica is a therapeutic teacher with over 15 years of experience in school education. She has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education. She has experience in school education, behavioral management, and trauma-informed care. Jessica is passionate and excited to work with students in Portland!
